Cain was the firstborn of Adam and Eve. In him were deposited all the desires of restoration of the original state of the man and mainly of the state of intimate communion with God the all-powerful. Therefore, Cain shows himself to be a person who did not please God with his offerings, because his motivation was different from the motivation of his brother Abel, as he sought to present the best of his flock to the Lord as we can see at Genesis 4:3-5 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fellâ⬠. It happened at the end of a time Cain brought from the fruit of the earth an offering to the Lord; Abel, for his part, brought of the firstfruits of his flock and the fat thereof. It is understood that Cain would have offered an offer thankfully and not voluntarily as was the case of Abel.
